“Bookgeyman” 🤣🤣🤣 I love this and feel it on so many levels!! A frequent travel myself, my kindle is always with me too but I neverrrr pass up a cutie bookstore 🥹
I am also someone that has needed to replace endless scrolling with books to protect my dopamine levels haha! Your writing is so engaging. It's humorous, thoughtful and challenging to me all in one. As someone who has thought hard about ethical consumption in this capitalistic society, my relationship with indie bookstores are ones that I could foster more. The way you described them as "portals, liminal spaces between the living and the dead" provides such a reverence that spaces like that deserve to have and I think we need as a constant reminder. Like you said connection over convenience.
Awww that makes me happy and of course! Sorry the comment got deleted. I was using an old account and wanted to switch over to this one. I’ll post the comment again so everyone can see how many ways in which your words/thoughts resonate
Kathleen Kelly didn’t run scared from the bookgeyman either. Fight the good fight, just keep reading.
Brb, adding Kathleen to my 2025 vision board (PS ILYSM)

Good: visiting bookstores
Better: traveling to new bookstores
Best: exploring bookstores in new cities *with you!*
WELL SAID!
Signed: me, also a fellow two-faced reader 🫶🏿
You, too?! I had no idea <3
